73% of industrial zones were filled

QTV - According to an estimation of Department for Economic Zones Management under Ministry of Planning and Investment, up to June 2017, 325 industrial zones were established with the total area of 94.9 thousand hectares. The area of industrial land available for lease is 64 thousand hectares, accounting for 67% of the total natural land.

Of these, 220 industrial zones have been in operation with the total natural land of 60.9 thousand hectares and 105 industrial parks are in the process of compensation for site clearance and basic construction with the total area of 34 thousand hectares. The occupancy rate of industrial zones was 51.5% and the rate for ones in operation is 73%. As early June of 2017, Vietnam has 16 coastal economic zones established with a total land and water surface of approximately 815 thousand hectares. In which, there are 36 industrial zones with a total natural land of 16.1 thousand hectares, the industrial land available for lease is 7.8 thousand hectares, accounting for 48% of total natural land.
